RRRRRRRR!!!

One of the people figures on the bridge has a new face! This is a really great one. Must have taken a while to draw!

I Did It!!!

This note (written on tape) was stuck to the Brooklyn Bridge this AM. What does it mean? What did they do and why? Who did it? Well, at least we know WHEN they did it.

Warning: Worn Wood

Thank God the bridge maintenance people highlighted the small hole in the wood plank with a bright orange circle...otherwise I would have tripped on it for sure and fallen on my face

Dead Rat in the Bikers lane

Wonder if it was run over by the jogging cat?

Marry Mary?

For a minute I thought I spotted Mary F. in a wedding dress on the bridge, but alas, it was a look-alike...

Scooter Lady and Singing Bum

I spotted these 2 regular bridge folk today.

Scooter Lady rides her electric scooter wearing a black leather jacket no matter what the weather is. I saw her wearing that same jacket when it was a sweltering 90 degrees a few weeks ago.

And the lady bum who sits t the foot of the bridge on the Brooklyn side was singing today. I usually see her sleeping peacefully. She sang" GIVE ME $150,000 AND I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT I CAN DO WITH IT!!!!!"

Stick Figure in Prayer

Yup, that's just what it was...a praying stick man! Except that the prayer pose was obviously Christian, not Muslim, not Jewish, not Buddhist. Hmmm, perhaps the same people leaving the fliers?

Shoe Crisis

So I thought it was just drizzling as I decided to walk over the bridge. Halfway across it starts raining heavily. I noticed a lost red shoe on the bikers lane and the sight made me snicker. Little did I know the joke was on me!

It started raining harder and harder, and I started slipping in my sandals with leather soles. All of a sudden, the sole of my left shoe was so drenched that it curled up. I almost fell on my face! The rest of the trip was dreadful, hard to walk with my broken shoe. With each pathetic step, I had to lift up my leg up and out, hard enough so that the flap flattened out before my foot hit the ground.

Newly painted bike signs, finally!

Golden Monks Spotted on the Bridge

Why do Buddhist monks and nuns wear a yellow robe?
When the ancient Indians looked into the jungle they could always tell which leaves were about to drop from the tree, because they were either yellow, orange or brown. Consequently, in India, yellow became the colour of renunciation. Monks and nuns robes are yellow so they can act as a constant reminder of the importance of not clinging, of letting go, of giving up.

Love is in the air...

City On The Water

A great view from the bridge this morning. It's going to be a hot one.... can't wait until the river gets clean enough to swim in! I'll dive right off the bridge!

Lost and Found...and a bouncy step

Today's lost and found items were the following:
a green necktie
a tripod in a trashcan
a shiny earring

I also some some familiar faces: bouncy lady overtook me (she's a daily bridge walker who bounces dramatically when she walks) Pictured here with a hat

Bridge Falcon

Sitting on the bridge, watching the tide go up the East River.

Little Red Tug Boat

Felt like riding my bike right off the edge of the bridge into the river.
